As an entrepreneur from the age of six, Sandy Silverberg was no stranger to learning new skills and surrounding himself with smart accomplished people. At the age of 68, he wrote the lyrics to his first song, I Mae.

He soon realized he needed a professional team to help him create fully-developed versions of his compositions. He turned to a popular gig marketplace and began working with various creators to find the person who best understood his lyrics and was able to create the perfect music for his heartfelt words.

It only took one collaboration with Greg Van Kerkhof to realize that he “got it”. He went on to prove that he could consistently produce a professional polished product without endless iterations and modifications.

After their fifth collaboration, Sandy asked Greg to form a band so their music could be released with each of them getting the credit they deserved. Thus was born Gentoo.
