Exploring the potential for virtual collaboration in the summer of 2023, Sandy Silverberg started auditioning musicians to provide music services for his lyrics.

Amongst the musicians he contacted was a young multi-talented singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist named Greg Van Kerkhof from Johannesburg, South Africa. Greg’s first effort on the song “Will I Be Safe With You?” was beautifully crafted and performed.

As Sandy continued to write songs and work with Greg, it became apparent that an album of songs with Greg was a real possibility and that he wanted a way to present their music to the world as musical partners.

After a brief discussion in late spring 2024, they decided to move forward on a full album and release it under their new band name, Gentoo!
